Hand shaped rattan. Add a special artisan touch to your bread with a proving basket. A banneton helps the dough maintain its shape before its final bake & removes some moisture from the outside ‘skin’ for that crisp crust. As the dough rises the basket leaves an attractive spiral imprint.
Bannetons can be used with or without a liner. A liner will help prevent dough sticking to the banneton, especially for beginners, however a good coating of rice flour will do the same thing

I purchased the 20 x 14 cm oval banneton. The recommended dough weight is 500 g which fits nicely but I think a 750 g dough would also be acceptable. Used it for the first time today with the liner. Both are well made. Delivery was fast considering all the delays these days.
Great, sturdy banneton. Excellent quality. Was well packaged and a lovely personalised note thanking me for supporting a small business.
I stumbled onto this wonderful website and artisan supplier by accident . Their Bannetons are beautiful . They were very attentive when the delivery didn’t arrive ( Aus Post what can I say) . Their bread recipe helped me get the stretch and fold process working . Highly recommended and can’t wait to get their Superstone Cloche if I keep doing well . Anthea
