Hand shaped rattan. Add a special artisan touch to your bread with a proving basket. A banneton helps the dough maintain its shape before its final bake & removes some moisture from the outside ‘skin’ for that crisp crust. As the dough rises the basket leaves an attractive spiral imprint.
Bannetons can be used with or without a liner. A liner will help prevent dough sticking to the banneton, especially for beginners, however a good coating of rice flour will do the same thing

Received yesterday, did my first sourdough using a banneton (& rice flour!!) today.
made for very nice transitions in my process and made my best loaf to date!
I should have gotten the biggest one already though. (got the 22cm one)
My recipe was just under 1kg and I found it rose a bit too much.
It so good, I’m about to buy a second one.
